The Pro 4 Laser is designed with low power components and high speed hardware. The high speed hardware initiates the firing of the laser diode and determines the distance to the object with
time of flight time measurement. Several electrical subsystems are required to provide a product to determine distance and target velocity. These subsystems include:
- stable and low noise power supplies; both low voltage and high voltage laser and APD voltage rails
- Microchip PIC24 microprocessor to handle complex speed algorithm, user interface and usb connectivity
- two user displays; one heads up and back display
- FPGA to determine time of flight calculation
- capable of expansion: GPS, Compass, inclinometer and radio telemetry
